As the name suggests, Bridge House is by the River Arun, in the centre of Arundel. It has direct access to glorious riverbank walks with wonderful views of Arundel Castle, the town and cathedral. Situated just in the South Downs national park, but within a small lively town, Bridge House is a perfect base to explore the area on foot, by bicycle or by car. Private parking and garaging of bicycles is available. Arundel train station is a ten minute walk away with a regular direct service to Gatwick airport and London Victoria, which takes 90 minutes. Arundel Castle, the cathedral, local shops, restaurants, pubs, and the WWT Arundel Wetlands Centre are all within easy walking distance. Arundel’s public heated open air Lido swimming pool, open from May to September 6, is just behind Bridge House. Chichester, Goodwood, Fontwell and unspoilt beaches are a short drive away. Bridge House is by an ancient footpath known as the Monarch’s Way. At 615 miles it is one of the longest English footpaths following the journey believed to have been taken by the future King Charles II from Worcester to Shoreham-by-Sea and from there to France in 1651.
